Monday (to celebrate me turning 47 1/2--hahaha), we decided to go out to dinner. We went to Kiwiana, a New Zealand place in Hongkou plaza that we'd noticed before. WOW. It exceeded our expectations. Everything was beautifully presented and tasted wondeful--both Kerry and I had their fish and chips, which were IMPECCABLE. They also had great desserts--Kerry had a chocolate waffle with chocolate ice cream, and I had rum raisin ice cream. The only things I didn't like were the seafood soap (it was just okay) and the fact that they had two power outages around 8:30 pm, right before we were about to leave. Not to many others were in there at the time--I'm not sure if they were trying to subtly hint for us to leave. Then we took the 745 bus (took a while tonight) and walked home.
Some food from Kiwiana:
Wonderful fish and chips: the fish was sole.
Rum raisin ice cream (two scoops!)
Great poster from the subway I noticed coming home from the mall.
Tuesday more grading...and chicken nuggets, broccoli, and potatoes for dinner. (I'm tiring of green salads, so fresh broccoli was a nice change.) Wednesday...I finally finished my grades! Didn't get out of the house except for one short walk to the bank with Kerry. The results were happy, though: Honors American Lit class: 11 As, 5 Bs, 3 Cs; Short Novel graduate class: 8 As, 18 Bs. Truly amazing stuff! The Honors college required a lot of paperwork for the exam: I had to record the highest score, lowest score, average score, percentages of students who scored As, Bs, etc.
Tomorrow I'm going to drop off my grades at Hongkou with Carol (I have them on a USB drive); then I plan to go to Songjiang to drop off my Honors American Lit class's grades. AND THEN I'M DONE!
As of this writing, two days until Tokyo!
