Days 181-182: The Weekend

Saturday I spent pretty much the entire day working on the presentation for Thailand about diversity in the American literary canon. It was a bit tough because the Internet kept crashing on me; this limits my ability to do research. I then sent my basic rough draft to Jeff, who's going to pretty it up a bit with borders and colors and animations and images and such. We had pork chops, potatoes, and broccoli tonight--it's nice to have fresh food, particularly where veggies are concerned.

Sunday, our major activity was going to the Westin Brunch again--Kerry's idea. The food was better this time than last time, even. They were celebrating St. Patrick's Day--a bit early. They had reuben casseroles and corned beef, along with the usual fare of Indian food, guacamole, Beijing duck, and yummy Italian (including a lamb and pasta dish to die for!). Topped things off with blueberry ice cream. So good! For talent today, they had a juggler, which was a bit unusual, but fun to watch. We took a cab both there and back--no problems. We were so tired when we returned home that we took a loooooong nap, but I managed to be a bit productive after that. Worked on my plan sheet for the Short Novels class, updated a lecture, and worked on a handout. I also found an old presentation I did on Persepolis for CCCC that I think I can use part of when I go to Bangkok at month's end. Great!

Probably will do more work tomorrow from home.

Pics of the Westin Brunch!

Italian food (including the lamb and pasta)!

Me with my silly St. Patrick's Day hat.

Seafood and assorted cheeses.
